Overview

The mission of COMCOR is to develop, establish, and maintain community based corrections programs that provide sanctions and alternatives to incarceration, and to provide leadership and coordination throughout the criminal justice community. COMCOR offers a variety of programs for nonviolent offenders that help save jail space in the adult detention center, allowing offenders to maintain their jobs, support their families, and provide restitution to the crime victims and the community. COMCOR works with state and government agencies to provide these alternative programs.

 

ComCor, Inc., a growing company currently seeking a responsible individual to fill the position of Shift Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor monitors and supervises overall residential population and activities on their assigned shift. Oversees inspections, security functions, client drug screening programs, and compliance with contractual/agency expectations and requirements. Reviews and/or prepares incidents (as required) and occurrence reports. Serves as a lead on their assigned shift and act as liaison between correctional supervisor and client specialist assigned to their shift.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible for ensuring completion of Security Specialist duties including, but not limited to: in-processing, collection of client urine specimen for analysis, alco-sensor test, client and facility searches and reviews and/or writes Minor, Major, and Critical incident reports.
  2. Serves as a liaison between Security Specialist and Correctional Supervisor.
  3. Responsible for onsite supervision of Security Specialist.
  4. Monitor compliance with training requirements and provide insight into client specialist training needs (group and/or individual).
  5. Monitor and prepare statistical analyses of breathalyzer, urinalysis, and compliance issues.
  6. Monitor the procurement, storage and utilization of supplies and equipment and reports shift/facility needs to the Correctional Supervisor.
  7. Oversee the application and enforcement of ComCor policies and procedures.
  8. Report maintenance and repair needs for the facility to the maintenance department with Correctional Supervisor and Program Managers are included in the reporting of identified maintenance needs.
  9. Prepare incident and occurrence reports as needed and reviews incident and occurrence reports generated during their assigned shift to ensure reports are detailed and comprehensive.
  10. Conducts administrative hearings.
  11. Coordinates extra duty programs.
  12. Performs other job related duties as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree in related field preferred.

 

Experience: One year of correctional, social services and/or other job related experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Work Environment: This job operates in a correctional residential setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit for various amounts of time. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position functioning in a 24/7 operation. Shifts are eight (8) hours in length and hours and days of work may vary depending on operational requirements.

 

Travel: Some light travel may be required for this position for trainings, transports, etc. and to various facilities. All travel must be pre-approved by management.
