The mission of ComCor is to develop, establish, and maintain community based corrections programs that provide sanctions and alternatives to incarceration, and to provide leadership and coordination throughout the criminal justice community. ComCor offers a variety of programs for nonviolent offenders that help save jail space in the adult detention center, allowing offenders to maintain their jobs, support their families, and provide restitution to the crime victims and the community. ComCor works with state and government agencies to provide these alternative programs.


ComCor, a growing company is currently seeking a responsible individual to fill the position of Director of Information Technologies. The Director of Information Technologies,is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company and works with Executive Management to grow the company through the use of technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, the Director will direct all assigned employees in the IT department to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s strategic plan.


  1. Establishes the company’s strategic technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development. Responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of technology aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change. Leads the IT department’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  2. Work with other department heads as an adviser of technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
  3. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and Office Automation equipment.
  4. Provides first level response for information technology matters on all computers, printers, phones, and all electronic devices used and assigned to NTSOC employees. Monitors, evaluates and maintains systems and procedures to protect data systems. Researches, develops and maintains procedures to enhance data and systems security. Maintains, preserves, and inventories company assets.
  5. Keeps up on technological changes and compliance requirements to meet new laws and efficiency standards. Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation.
  6. Acts as a good steward of companies resources and ensures control of IT departmental budgets.
  7. Ensures the facility-wide computer network is maintained and operational.
  8. Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies (i.e., cloud based technologies) to help streamline operations.
  9. Establishes technology policies and protocols for the organization and ensures ongoing compliance.
  10. Responsible for the analysis of purchased systems, hardware and software, and the internal design and development of hardware and software systems.
  11. Promotes the interfacing and control of the organization's present technology and the dissemination of technological information throughout the organization.
  12. Interacts and negotiates with vendors, technology suppliers and top management.
  13. Performs other job related duties as required.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or a closely related field. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible work experience in information technology. A combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet the education and experience requirements.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of information technology concepts, including teleprocessing, databases, and distributed systems; principles and techniques of management and administration of technical personnel; modern hardware and software technology from a systems management perspective; developments and trends in information systems technology; principles and methods or project management for information systems development; and finance and accounting as it relates to funding and billing for information services.
  2. Ability to manage a complex organization and coordinate activities with other departments; to provide overall direction to information services such that uninterrupted, on-time service to end users is maximized at a reasonable cost; to communicate in an articulate and dynamic manner; and to create and foster a service philosophy and inspire the same in others.
  3. Strong organization, innovation, problem solving/analysis, project management, and time management skills.
  4. Good judgment and critical thinking skills.
  5. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, vendors and other stakeholders.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit for various amounts of time. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with normal working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some work may be required outside of normal business hours as operational needs arise.


Travel: Some light travel may be required for this position for meetings, trainings, etc. and to various facilities. All travel must be pre-approved by management.
