The mission of ComCor is to develop, establish, and maintain community based corrections programs that provide sanctions and alternatives to incarceration, and to provide leadership and coordination throughout the criminal justice community. ComCor offers a variety of programs for nonviolent offenders that help save jail space in the adult detention center, allowing offenders to maintain their jobs, support their families, and provide restitution to the crime victims and the community. ComCor works with state and government agencies to provide these alternative programs.


ComCor, a growing company is currently seeking a responsible individual to fill the position of Accounting Supervisor. The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the accounting department, assigning and auditing work of Finance Staff, and assisting with the development of policies, procedures, systems, etc.


  1. Oversees the daily operation of the accounting department.
  2. Assigns and audits work of finance staff.
  3. Assists with the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and financial systems.
  4. Assists with the preparation of annual and monthly budgets. Meets with management to review financial performance and discuss variances on actual to budget. Facilitates review on the accuracy of budget and rolling forecasts, and development of measures to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.
  5. Develops, implements and maintains internal audit procedures and paperwork, and assists with external audits.
  6. Ensures reporting, billing, client accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable are processed efficiently and accurately.
  7. Responsible for the maintenance of the agency’s depreciation schedules and fixed asset inventory control system.
  8. Provides oversight for purchase authorization system, client accounts in accounting systems, billing processes
  9. Responsible for financial forecast analytics, standardized reporting, forecast preparation and review, data management and reasonability analysis.
  10. Provides management with information needed to make operational, financial and strategic decisions. Assists management with special projects to support strategic decision making (“what if” strategic analysis, forecasting, new service projects, etc.)

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible accounting or other work-related experience. A combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet requirements.


Certification(s) and Licensure(s): Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant professional certification preferred.


Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excel mastery and proven experience in building strong financial models.
  • Knowledge of work papers, subsidiary ledgers and cash flow reporting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks or related system(s).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external communications, including senior management.
  • Strong financial, economic and business analysis experience.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and to effectively multi-task.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Extremely strong analytical, problem-solving skills and business acumen.
  • Strong organization, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to think critically and to make sound judgements.




Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit for various amounts of time. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with normal working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Travel: Some light travel may be required for this position for meetings, trainings, etc. and to various facilities. All travel must be pre-approved by management.
